Horror and Heartbreak (closed)

Who: Robin and Much
What: Much is tired of being pushed away (and just plain tired)
Where: Camp
When: December 13th, early morning

Much felt wearier than he had in months as he prepared a pot of stew for breakfast.

Sometime in the night, he had woken and glanced over to Robin’s bunk to see his master thrashing. Much would have gone to him, but Marian had woken as well and was already questioning him about his nightmare. Knowing Robin would prefer her comfort to his, he reluctantly remained still.

To his surprise, however, Robin chose to walk away from Marian rather than confide in her. She followed, of course, and he could hear them shouting at each other for a few moments after they left the camp, though he couldn’t quite make out the words. Then their voices quieted, and a sinking feeling crept into his stomach. Is he going to tell her?

Marian had not been with Robin in the Holy Land. She had no idea of the horrors they had faced. How could Robin think she would understand what he had been through better than Much?

He didn’t know when he finally fell asleep again, but when he did, he was greeted by a nightmare of his own, the one where he and Robin had somehow become separated and, desperate to find his way back to his master’s side, he began to cut down Saracen after Saracen with his sword.

He woke in a cold sweat, his heart racing, but the sight of Robin sleeping soundly in his bunk calmed him at once, and he rose and started breakfast. Using one hand to stir the pot and the other to stifle a yawn, he waited for the stew to finish cooking.
