Oh, What a Beautiful Morning (open)

Apr 11, 2010 15:15

Who: Open to Michaelmas partygoers
What: An after-party brunch
Where: Nottingham Castle, Great Hall
When: 30 September, late morning

Vaizey was practically skipping as he entered the Great Hall and looked around at the much more subdued gathering than the one that had filled the room the night before. Most of the people were seated at tables, chatting quietly between bites of food. A few browsed the food that was laid out off to the side. Some were in between, plates in hand. Nobody was masked; while it had been entertaining for a few hours, he far preferred being able to see the faces of those around him. Especially after being surprised not once, but twice over: first Prince John, and then Robin Hood.

Robin Hood, who was now enjoying the finest hospitality that the Nottingham Castle dungeons had to offer. Despite his irritation at having been sent away by the prince at Hood's arrest, the satisfaction of finally having the scoundrel behind bars still made Vaizey grin. It was about time. And, after Robin had come to fully appreciate just how much trouble he had caused, he would be executed. Oh, it was going to be superb. Perhaps, there could be a whole festival around it: musicians, dancers, food; a grand event.

Until then, there was food here. He could have a servant bring him a dish, but was in a pleasant enough mood that he decided to do for himself. Taking a plate, he surveyed the selection, grabbing whatever looked better than the things around it, and then went to take his seat at the head table.
