OH. MI. GAWD.
So I'm online right now, marveling that the computer actually works. Why? Because I didn't have power all weekend. That's right, ALL WEEKEND. The power went out at 9 o'clock Thursday night at my house and finally at about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon the lights went back on.
67 hours without power.
You probably heard about it in the news, actually. I live in Washington, remember? Lots of people are still without power, and there are uprooted trees and tree branches everywhere. Thankfully not in my neighborhood because we don't have any trees over 10 ft. around, but yellowdello2112 had a tree nearly miss her house and starbriteyellow has a big tree that's threatening to fall.
In short, it was horrific. I slept Friday and Saturday night in my sleeping bag under my quilt in my bed. My family and I spent lots of time out of the house in places that did have power that way we'd be warm, not bored, and able to eat food that wasn't spoiling. Food in a full freezer is only good for about 48 hours, so we had to cook a lot of stuff last night and pitch most of the things that were in our refrigerator. Although I did find enough time to start reading HBP again. :D And I went to sleep last night thinking (in between little internal yips of happiness that I could read my alarm clock) that I just had to post about what had happened on my LJ. LOL
