With the sheriff apparently still absent, Robin was getting antsy. Something was very, very wrong in Nottingham-- even more so than usual-- and it was getting under his skin that he remained clueless as to what that was. It seemed like some reconnaissance was in order, but with no real idea as to what he was looking for or even why, really, he hesitated to bring the entire gang into it. He had no plan other than nosing around and seeing if he caught a whiff of whatever scheme was in the works, and he was not about to endanger everyone with so little to go on.
He definitely was not going to endanger Marian, so even she was unaware that he was currently creeping up from the underbelly of the castle and into the more populated areas, where hopefully, someone would be talking.
