A while back, I was driving down Campbell Avenue with someone--
minervarain, I think--and happened to pass by a guy on the street corner who was holding a "God is Fake" sign. My passenger and I were both quite amused by it. Months later, it made the news. There's
an article about the guy in today's
tucson_weekly. The guy's name is Robert Swango, and he's an organizer for an atheist group:Swango, a stroke victim with aphasia, had struggled to articulate why he felt threatened when a young man started pestering him about the red-lettered "God is Fake" sign he was displaying on the southeast corner of Grant Road and Campbell Avenue.
There was also
a good article about
Public Enemy's concert next week. I still haven't decided if I'll go. Working at
Borders has made me a little more reluctant to stay up late these days.
