If people are strange, Part 2

I'm educating myself this week.  Education is a life-long process, I'm told.

I've learned what the sort-of-Roman-nail-with-thingybobble,  star of my last post, is actually called.  It's a building pin, which doesn't sound half so thrilling as it should.  But if you go to page 942 of the Screwfix catalogue, you can see one in action, holding a doorframe in place - you hammer the nail bit through the doorframe and into the wall and the thingummybobble stops it from slipping, keeps it butted up and square against the wall until the fixing's all finished.  Then you take the nail thing out again.

Not half as interesting as my idea, mind you.  But I might have passed over the Screwfix version anyway as it's painted red.  It's very thin, too.  Doesn't look half so sinister.

Remind me to tell you about line pins some time, too.   They aren't being used to their full potential in the building trade, I'm sure.

(The really disturbing thing about this is that I don't write murder mysteries or crime fiction,  I write fantasy.  I may have missed my calling.)

Maybe it's because my days seem to be back to front, or upside down - I barely get going before noon.  By the time I get into the swing of it, it's time for bed!  I may try taking my tabs at a different time, see if that helps get rid of the soggy suet feeling in my head.  I'm sorry, but I can't seem to do much about the soggy state of this post.

But this isn't getting work done.
mnfaure  and I resolved to get back into the fray as of yesterday - and she's kicking my arse.  So... back to work.  Well, after a cuppa, some chocolate and an episode of "Angel" *g*

randomness, writing stuff, use of weapons, procrastination
