“Do you even eat?” Ricky asks one day.
Yoann looks offended, but he isn’t sure why. “Of course. What do you mean by that?”
Ricky shrugs. “You’re thin.”
Now he knows why. Yoann squares his shoulder and sits up a little straighter. “Am not. I’ve been working out, see-”
“Relax,” Ricky interrupts, laughing. “I didn’t mean scrawny. You’re just thin.”
Yoann hears none of it, however; he has already started flexing.
“Feel that,” he insists, “that’s hard muscle there.”
“Oh, yes. That’s really impressive.”
Yoann feels himself flushing in all the wrong places and lowers his arm. “You’re teasing.”
