He whispers outside the door of their room with van Nistelrooy and Raúl and they agree it’s best to let him cry himself out. José Maria returns later and lets himself into the darkened room. He has a little bag of cider cakes with him and when he hears it rustle Sergio sits up “Do you think you could eat?” José Maria asks, Sergio looks in the bag “Maybe one,” he says, weakly, taking two.
