Rafael’s hand hit the wall with such force that it actually seemed to resound in the room a few moments later.
“This is home now. This is everything that matters. Can’t they just figure that out?” he shouted, in a voice that sounded half-angry and half-desperate.
Carles looked up, as if the furious outburst had been a surprise to him. He knew he could shout back, if he wanted to start an argument.
But instead, he put an arm around Rafael’s shoulders. “Yes,” he murmured softly. “…and that’s why you can always come back? This is just a new beginning.”
