Heinze hates armbands, the meaning behind and the idea of power they give; or that's what he tells himself while watching Zannetti slide the thing up his arm. He likes Javier, but there's something wrong with the circumstances and maybe that has to do with Gaby's hatred towards the band. Maybe it's because for him armbands are always going to be related to one person and to the past; because he still can't erase the image from his head that's Fabián Ayala taking the band off his arm that night in Venezuela when everything crashed down and into an end.

Some people don't get it and they think that, because you're captain in one place, you can be captain everywhere. That's utterly untrue. Zanetti knows that; even when he has been playing for years in Argentina, taking the captaincy of it is something huge. It scares him - for more reasons that the ones he would ever admit, being the bigger one for sure the fact that if he's the new captain it means that Fabián Ayala won't wear the band on his arm ever again and Javier can't live with that very well, 'cause this is Ayala we're talking about.

Gaby strips him with a kid's enthusiasm to do something new; Fabián saw him this hyper earlier when they got the gold medals and he's amused by the fact that Heinze is still high on joy.
They've been dancing around each other for weeks, since the olympics started practically, and this was the final resolution. Ayala leaves aside age difference and stupid issues for Gabriel, knows that if it wasn't for the younger one this may not happen. Gabriel strips him fully, yes, but for some reason that Fabián doesn't ask he leaves the armband on; the captain just grins.

Lucas knows that he's in no right to be the team's leader; knows that he hasn't been on the team for such a long period of time and that even if he's one of the role models, the armband isn't his on first place. He understands that, he can't fight Daniel on the position he won himself fairly; but sometimes like on Sunday night Pussineri would like to be recognized as the savior he is to the team, more than once, and he goes to the showers thinking that maybe he deserves that clothe much more than his partner does.

Yacob wanted approval; he searched and aimed for it, from the coach and his partners; but it probably was Matías' endorsement the one he wanted the most. Matías' attention was something Claudio never actually got, being always the second choice with Maxi there. Wonderful player Maxi, while Claudio was barely good enough and had only one goal against the many Maxi achieved. Maxi was everything in Matías' eyes and Claudio was nothing.
When the armband was on Claudio's hands (not Maxi's) the young player though this was his chance - huge shame, honestly, that Matías wasn't there anymore to see him.
