When Filippo had entered the apartment, later than usual, the lights had been dimmed in the living room. Out in the hallway he could already see Christian's shadow - unmoving, but with slumped shoulders, pouring over something while sitting at the dining table. Probably with a glass of red wine by his side, the bottle already half-empty.
The seven steps it took Filippo to come to stand beside Christian were light enough not to disturb the brooding striker. As he slipped his arms around the older man, the tension slowly melted away, and Filippo knew that eventually, Christian would talk.
