Mancini heard the dull clink of ice coming down the phone line, then a grateful exhale as Rijkaard swallowed. Bourbon, he guessed.
The other man's voice was slightly thicker when he spoke again. "How's your team?"
Mancini took a long swallow of his own drink, then barked out a sharp, miserable laugh. "Mostly shit. Yours?"
Rijkaard chuckled, and Mancini imagined him grinning against his glass. "Mostly shit."
There was silence as they listened to the other's swallows, and the faint sounds of ice in glasses and bodies settling into favorite chairs. Finally, the Dutchman spoke again.
"Wanna call Mourinho?"
