He’s not really paying attention to the shifting landscape outside. Not much has changed for the past hour anyway - it’s still only the same, endless bridges, tunnels, valleys, mountains and tiny, almost unreadable road signs.
Besides, it’s getting darker, and harder to tell where they are. Paolo seems to know exactly where they are going, though; one hand on the steering wheel and a smug grin on his face when they catch eye contact in the mirror.
- You still did not tell me where we are going?
- No, it’s a surprise. But I promise - it’s nothing you won’t like!
