Today's rehearsal was really fun. I don't know why there were so few of us today, probably less than ten people, but we still were super productive! We blocked probably the most complicated scene I'm in, blocking-wise and...everything-wise. It was great. Hermia vs. Helena catfight!! Rawrr. I am a tiny beast! It was sometimes hard to get into it because I was constantly holding and checking a script--oops, that reminds me...ten days to learn all my lines! Better get on that O.o
Tomorrow in Shakespeare we get our first TASKS! Dun dun dunnn...
Part of me really wants to get something really embarrassing or dramatic or scandelous, but of course the rational part of me tells the other part that if I actually got tasks like that, I would wish for something a bit more subdued for the sake of my own dignity. Still...exciting!!
After Shakespeare I totally crashed. I ate 3/4 of a pizza, watched half of a bad romantic comedy, took the dog out, slumped upstairs, and sat at the computer sleepily doing the procrastinatory equivilent of nothing for a very long time. I think it's the combination of not wanting to do three more assemblage assignments, the weather being cloudy and drizzly, Shakespeare, and my having woken up at six o'clock this morning. It's just an evening for being cozy, not productive. You know?
Last night I watched the second half of Pretty Woman and the second half of Much Ado About Nothing. Much Ado made me feel so happy and elated that I actually had the experience of being in love, even though I of course am not. It was delightful! A great evening movie, whether you need cheering up or not. Then I went on Omegle and talked to some friendly student about love, Shakespeare, and English majors.
OH, and I feel a bit embarrassed about family members coming to see the Shakespeare production this year, because even though it's so much fun this way, it's also pretty awkward that EVERYTHING is being played as a sexual innuendo. I thought that my chest-thrusting through the first half of the play was enough to make me not want to invite my parents, but wait, there's more! :P
