Day One
We're in! Thanks to the grace of several people, without whom we would still be struggling to unload furniture, even now.
I'm exhausted. I painted for basically 3 solid days (5 hours the first day, and then something closer to 10 for each of the remaining days), and then yesterday all day I finished packing, moved around furniture, and then tried to be helpful as friends assisted Josh with the actual moving, although I was kind of useless because by that time I was sick from the heat. After we returned the truck at 11:15-ish, we basically fell into bed. Tonight we're going back over to the old place to clean, and to pick up the kitties (who hopefully are not too traumatized by being left by themselves in an empty house overnight). I'm going to go check on them at lunchtime.
The house is lovely, though - or will be, once things are put away in some semblance of order. I'm really happy.
I don't really have the wherewithall to say anything intelligent, so I'll sign off. But thanks to everyone who helped us! We are supremely grateful.
