Heroes 2.03 - Oddity and other commentary

Was I seeing things, or did Peter go from wearing a blue shirt to a red one between the preview and the supposedly-immediately-afterward first scene? I missed a good chunk of the horribly repetitive recap dialogue because I was thinking aloud. I can't get on board with it taking place the next day-Peter doesn't seem to have Memento-style amnesia, so why would they need to remind him of the deal? Was it a trick of the light? Or does he now have the officially lamest new power evar?

Other random thoughts:

I'm going to slap Mo. He needs the genre blindness beaten out of him. Fast.

The girl-trouble handicap they've saddled Hiro with is disheartening. It's like saying that no matter how much you glory in your geekiness, there'll always be that one tiny thing that'll fuck you over. As a happily married geek, I oppose this viewpoint. Strongly.

I reeeeeallly hope D.L. doesn't exemplify the result of Heroing While Ethnic. Of the regulars who've been killed off, we have him, Isaac and Simone (who, yeah, isn't one of the specials, but was definitely a show regular). Not looking good.

How, pray tell, was MichCanBetty obtaining food and supplies on Isla Nublar? (Yes, that was my first thought, not Lost-I'd rather see some compys running around than have Sylar meet, say, Danielle.) Will we meet him/her next week? Please say s/he lays the smackdown.

I wonder if Maya and Alejandro have the same inherent range to their respective powers. And what would happen to Peter if he met both of them at once. And whether, if they were to meet under calm and normal circumstances (not bloody likely, I know, but hypothetically), Peter might be able to cry ooze with a Haydenesque ease?

Nice reveal of Nichelle Nichols, but I bet there were about 10 people who both recognized her and were surprised.

And in conclusion, I read a post recently about national stereotyping (the character of a place, not necessarily of the people living in it) WRT Ireland and gangs, and over the course of the next day came up with this whole dissertation on how, if something about a person or place is wow!different or yikes!different from Person A or the place he lives, the fact that he remembers it or associates it with Person B's home isn't necessarily stereotyping, just human nature. I'm glad I didn't post it, because I'd have to go white it out. Now, I love Uillean pipes, and they were used subtly in the score at episode's end, but they were not necessary. It's like, "Oooh, look, it's even more Irish!" Which is just punching the overkill button one too many times. It really ticks me off that I'm annoyed by the use of an instrument I like in the score. This is me shaking my finger at Wendy and Lisa. Grr. Arrgh.
