The Challenge
Ok, hands up! Who wants to go watch me suffer nerve damage in Santa Clara?
So here's the plan.. This coming Friday, September 4, the day before my birthday, I will be travelling down to the south bay to take on the Smoke Eaters' Hellfire Challenge. Anybody who wants to come join me is welcome (you don't have to eat them with me, you can just watch). Details follow:
When: Friday, September 4, at around 8:30pm

How: However you like, but carpools can probably be arranged.
Why: Because I'm insane, of course.
Given that this coincidentally happens to be the very same night that cadhla is having her book release party down in Santa Clara too, I'm actually planning on heading down to her shindig at 7pm, hanging around for an hour or so, and then heading over to Smoke Eaters. Anybody else who wants to do the same is welcome to come along (let me know if you want to carpool), or folks can just meet up with us at Smoke Eaters when we get there.
The Birthday
Oh, yeah, and speaking of my birthday, hey, guess what? I'm gonna be having a birthday party this coming Saturday (September 5. Yes, for a change, it's actually going to be on my real, official birth day. What a concept!) Come enjoy an entirely arbitrary demarcation of somebody else's perception of linear time! And then there will be cake! Details follow:
When: Saturday, September 5, from about 1pm until whenever we finish.
Where: My place.

Why: I said cake, dammit!
Gifts: No gifts are expected or required. Just showing up and having a good time will be birthday present enough. If you don't show, though, you owe me a gift. (kidding!)
