(no subject)
Since my last post, various awful things happened. I sprained my wrist on the job (it's been a full month and it still feels very much unhealed though supposedly there's nothing else I can do), became horribly ill for 3+ weeks, had to drive both ways to work in the Valentine's Day blizzard (it took me more than three times as long as usual to drive, fishtailing all the way), the day after which my car died. The mechanic I took it to told me it couldn't be fixed for less than $1200 (NOTE: I DO NOT HAVE $1200!) and that it would probably be a better idea to just scrap it and move on.
Now, my parents did intervene and another mechanic ended up fixing it for $870 (which they loaned to me for the time being), my health improved, the weather cleared up and I just got a promotion and 10+% raise. I'm expecting to hear any day now if I'm going back to Pitt in the fall for a MSW program. And boys are nice. Stay tuned for more curiosities.
