Curry For Baby And Parents To Share

Jul 19, 2007 18:05

So my ten month old baby loves coconut milk based curries. I think it is because I have been eating curry all through pregnancy and breastfeeding her--and gave up on giving her the proscribed bland diet early on in her solid food explorations because she didn't care for them.
Instead of making two dinners, now, I have started making curries that the whole family will love, the only difference being that for Kat, the ten month old, they are pureed, and for the seventeen year old, my husband and I, there are chunks.

This curry, which I call Kat's Chicken Curry is a northern style Indian coconut milk based one that has plenty of spice and just a  little dash of heat. It is full of flavor and is mild enough for a baby but tastes great for everyone else.

You could add vegetables to this if you wanted, or do an all vegetable curry if you wanted. I just served it with separate vegetable dishes instead.

Photos, story and recipe here.

spices, chicken, curry, garlic, onions
