I swear that ad campaign worked on the minds of mothers. I'm 38 so I was a kid when I saw the commercials. The mothers who bought JIF were better mothers than the ones who bought Peter Pan.

I was never a fan of Peter Pan.

(I'm a poet and I know it.)

I do, but my son won't eat meat or at least on very rare occasions will eat some meat. So, I tend to stock up on peanut butter because that's where he gets most of his protein intake.

I grew up with the JIF commercial though. XD This choosey mom chooses JIF.

That stuff doesn't spoil. :P When it's on sale, you buy tons of it, and you're set for a year.

I haven't bought peanut butter in a long time, but when I was little we bought the natural bulk stuff from the health food store... it didn't keep and had to be eaten up fairly fast, but it was tasty.

Haha, same here. I've been eating it for like 3 weeks though, so I'm not too worried about it.

Yeah, we heard this on the news last night, checked our jar of Peter Pan PB, and its product code began with 2111! My mom and sister had been eating it too, and so far they're okay, so hopefully we got a lucky, bacteria-free jar! We still threw it out of course.

ConAgra says they've tested all their equipment and not found the source - it all checked out clean. However, since their product appears to be the culprit they are pulling it anyway. With that in mind, I doubt your family has much to worry about.
