I made a cabbage pie yesterday for early Thanksgiving dinner that my in-laws had.
It's acutally a series of individual little pie things baked together in a tube pan.
A very Russian thing to do, we call it "happy family".

Ready to be devoured

Dough recipe is here.

Filling
Take a small cabbage, cut in small strips, place in a soup pot.
Put about a cup of water, salt to taste.
Cover and simmer.
Once it gets softer, add two eggs and mix well.
Continue simmering until cabbage is tender.
If water didn't completely evaporage, drain it.

Assembly
Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut circles, about 4 inches in diameter.
Spread circles out with your fingers a bit.
Fill with cooled off cabbage.
Wrap ends around.
Dip in vegetable oil and place seam down in the tube pan.
Repeat until there's no more room in the tube pan.
No do the second layer, placing pies on top, between the pies of the first layer, kind of like bricks in a building.
Bake at 350F for about 30 minutes.
Cool off, enjoy.
They're great with soup or tea.
