So, I posted a
recipe for a mango-pineapple salsa that I made a long while ago to go with my Asian-Jamaican fusion Jerked Pork Tenderloin.
And in the post, along with the recipe, in addition to telling of my Grandma's love for mangoes, I told the story of how that salsa recipe has gone on to be eaten in many different contexts.
For my Pakistani personal chef clients, it was "That mango chutney you make last week--can you make it again?"
And to my Mom, it is, "That mango relish stuff you put on top of the stuffed peppers. What's in that?"
Anyway, I don't guess it matters what anyone calls it--it is good, and is very good with chicken, fish, pork, shrimp and vegetables that are stuffed with a mixture of rice pilau and minced meat curry (keema sookh). It is probably one of my most versatile recipes.
Enjoy!
