Now that i'm living in Pah, it is becoming more and more apparent to me that i fit in here. As stacey discovered for me, I probably could get a job at the casino with no questions asked. Even if there are a couple white dealers, I'd likely have a better chance then the average white 21 year old (yes, i said 21) girl to get a job serving the gambling addicted.
There are a great number of people that share my complection here, and because of the questions i've been asked i'm beginning to find it more difficult to tell. And if I can't tell, than who can? And if the native kids at camp can't tell ("'milo', do you speak Cree?") then i guess i should just forget about it. I think the guy that interviewed me at Staples for a job last week was asian, he did look a lot like me.. but maybe he was Aboriginal and i'm the one mistaking his dark skin and full lips for native rather than asian.
So far, i've not found any perks to looking like 2 different races. Except for that time at value village when that native lady handed me 60$ cash cause she "knew none of the white people in the store would help her" but she was glad she found me. What?
