HEY GUYS! I've pretty much been absent this past week, which means I haven't really had much of a chance to read everyone's journals and such. So I hope those on my flist are having a great weekend and enjoying this freaking awesome season of Merlin. ♥

Update on Merlin_love Autumn Swap )
Colin is absolutely spectacular. There is no way this show would be even half as good as it is now without him. He just brings SO MUCH to each scene. I mean, that whole beginning (well, the entire episode, but mostly the beginning) is just all about Colin and his facial expressions. I find it so ridiculously fascinating that he can portray so much EMOTION without really altering his face. His emotions are in his eyes so freaking much.
In the caves, you could TOTALLY tell that he REALLY didn't want to be there, but the crystals kept luring him in, and he had to look. And just all of the tension in Merlin came across so beautifully by Colin projecting with his eyes and the tension in his neck. THE TENSION IN HIS NECK WAS JUST TOO BEAUTIFUL! Seriously, that's some great acting right there. And then it carried over throughout the episode, that little "subconscious" sort of shell-shocked shaking Merlin had going on when a vision came true... Oh lord. Colin is one of the most talented actors alive, he has to be, really.
And Arthur! Arthur broke my heart in this episode with his grief over Morgana. That was so beautiful. Bradley was spectacular. His comforting of Gwen too? Lovely. As much as I really (really, really) don't ship Arthur/Gwen, it was a lovely scene.
Overall I just felt like this episode held so much GROWTH for all the characters. Merlin's more and more independent, Arthur's logic/feelings of Merlin hiding something from him, Uther's humanity (and callousness), Morgana's hateful depth (yay, no more 2-dimensional smirky!evil)... It's all coming together now. Gave me chills, honestly.
