You can't kill a king!

They can and they did. On this day, the 21st of January, in 1793 King Louis the XVI of France was executed in Place de la Révolution, Paris, on the charge of having committed "a multitude of crimes in order to establish his tyranny by destroying the liberty of the people". And Archie and Horatio finally found a way to escape from Purgatory....

I always felt sorry for Louis. He just was not ready for the world to change on him.

But what a wonderful day for Archie, for Horatio and the Indy!

Louis certainly got over taken by events. The whole world turned upside down beneath him.

But what a wonderful day for Archie, for Horatio and the Indy!
Yes, this is when Archie finally gets the break he's been waiting for. It's hard for us to imagine war being greeted with such joy now. I've just written a fic about this scene btw, hope to get it up tomorrow or possibly even later tonight.

I can't wait to read it. But I will wait. It will be worth it. And lest you think I am goofing off, I am in the middle of a teen-Edrington. He is reclining on a fainting couch at the moment.

I can't promise it will be done tonight, but maybe. Also I may be writing the next Kyd and Marlowe from the POV of Mistress Smith.

I love the way you write Edrington. I don't always find him to be the most appealing character but you really manage to bring him to life.

He is reclining on a fainting couch at the moment.
Oh dear. I hope he comes round soon!

Looking forward to your next installation of Kyd & Marlowe too :)

Oh, how I love cute-but-bloodthirsty Archie ... my goodness, that is a beautiful smile.

It's an incandescent smile :)

Cute-but-bloodthirsty is the perfect description of Archie in this scene, and also the jubilant "Did you see me?!" scene on the Indy.

They're just stunning! I got the BSG bluray set too and tbh I can't see much noticeable difference between the bluray and the dvds. The Hornblower remastered discs are amazing though! I can't wait to watch the rest :) I'm going to have to update my icons too!

Somehow those pictures encapsulate the whole canon. Horatio glum, Archie upbeat and desperate to comfort him. *happy sighs*

Poor Archie, the excitement wore off rather quickly… :(

True, but I don't think he ever gave up hope. Hope seems to be what embodies him.
