The Following Sea Some-Kind-of-Podfic-Something
latin_cat's recent post was a very timely reminder that we had vaguely planned to do some-kind-of-podfic-something towards the end of the year. This was originally esmerelda_t's idea and when I raised it on the comm in May ( Podfic..wotcha think?) several folks said they might be interested.
As I suspect we are all complete amateurs when it comes to podfic, I'm not going to run this as a challenge as such, instead I'm going fix a random date, say about two months down the line on 18th December, and anyone who is interested in playing along records a fic for that date. If you do think you'd like to give it a try just comment below with a note of whether you'd like to record your own fic or another author's. Of course if you do want to record a fic by another author you'll need their permission first but I'm happy to contact writers on people's behalf if that would help.
I've contacted audiofic.jinjurly.com to ask if we can upload any podfic we produce there and I will let you know as soon as I hear back.
I have never attempted anything like this before but there seems to be a ton of podfic "how to" guides and FAQs online. Audiofic's own guide to Creating and Submitting podfic is very good as is general_jinjur's Newbie Guide, though some of the links are now broken.
