A young man walked up to her then, he was a few years older then her. She'd see features that were definitely John, but it was always his eyes that gave it away. He smiled at her then. "Would you like to dance?"

"I would love to. I apologize in advance for my idiot friends who will start making catcalls any second now." She chuckled at that as she took his hand and let him lead. She knew him, and he knew her - no introductions were necessary. In their mind(s), they never were. "I bet you think I'm such a dork for coming up with this one, honey."

"Not at all." He smiled and pulled her close, chuckling about the friends comment.

"They will. Or maybe that comes later when we have more to drink." She laughed softly as she melted into his arms, reaching up to stroke his cheek gently. "I was right. You were still cute. At least right now you don't have to contend with the pregnancy stomach."

He leaned into her touch. "I was better looking. And I don't mind about the pregnancy stomach."

"You were not, honey. I told you before, I think age makes you more handsome." She laughed at that as her friends looked on and already started to make comments. "It gets in the way sometimes. You know I'm showing more every day. I guess I just wanted to be young and stupid for awhile."

He brushed his lips over hers lightly. "Really think I look better older?"

"I think you always look handsome, but yeah, I do." She smiled gently before she kissed him back lightly. "You forget, John. That's the face I've seen every day for what, eleven years now? That's the man I know."

He smiled and kissed her slowly a moment. "You still look beautiful."

"I grew my hair out. Didn't really cut it until after my dad died," she said, her long dark hair now to about the middle of her back. A dry snicker. "Hey, we could go make this like a real prom night and go lose our virginity in the back of someone else's car."

He grinned a bit and winked. "Or the hotel room I got for us?"

"Oh, John, you think of everything." She grinned back and held him close. "Let's do it. Literally. But did you want to stay and watch my friends and I get trashed?"

A pause as she thought. "Well I guess that depends on how much time we have. We are at work after all."

He thought a moment. "We can stay for a bit." He stroked her cheek lovingly.

"Yeah. I'm probably sprawled in my desk chair snoring right now," she quipped. "See? I told you that you can dance," she pointed out as they moved together.

He smiled moving with her slowly. "Yes you did. I remember the night we danced before we got married. When I got to watch you sing."

"Oh that was embarrassing." She laughed. "You're gonna have to see it again and worse."
