Stark's prom night had been one of the best nights of her then-young life. She, her boyfriend, and her best friends had all gone together and enjoyed themselves, capped off by a drunken rendition of Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now." It had been so much fun they'd duplicated the incident at her wedding, twenty-five years later.
But because Stark was also sentimental, she wouldn't have minded reliving that moment with an even more special man. One that she hadn't actually met till college, but who cared? She could fudge, right?
So on one of her usual mid-day "pregnant and exhausted" naps in their office, her chair tipped back, trying to catch some sleep, Stark began to daydream. She remembered prom night in all of its detail. The Northwestern High School prom had actually been held at a nice hotel in downtown Baltimore, and they'd all spent the entire drive over in the limo screwing up the outfits that had taken them like two hours to pull together. She remembered everyone being there: Davon, Christian, Todd, Thea...
But she was looking for the man who would become her husband. In the real world, her lips quirked as she had one thought: I bet he was cute in high school.
