In the last handful of weeks a lot of things have been going on.
A few weeks ago Fozzy died. It was quite sudden and as you might expect turned us upside down for a while. We have talked about getting anohter dog to keep Indy company, but we decided to leave that until at least after the wedding. My goal is not to try and replace him. When we do get another dog it will be because we can't go home without him.
I have also had the pleasure to have two bridal showers. One in Ohio and one in VA. It was kind of amazing as I have never been to a bridal shower before. The first shower was a Pampered Chef shower which, as you mgith expect, yeilded some awesome bakeware and kitchen utensils that Alton Brown would be proud of. The second shower, orginized by Shauna, was "vinyard" themed and I was quite surprised by the varity of things that people found. :D
The wedding is moving along. Just a couple weeks away and everything seems to be coming together pretty well. We went and got ther marriage license today, it was quite exciting. The feeling of finality is here now. There really is no going back. The whole process has brought about its own questions for me. I have been debating for months about what to do with my name. Its funy becaue I always thought htat when I got married that I would ahve no problems letting go of it. Its sta=rabge how much of my identity I put into my name. The idea that changing my name in some way might change me in some way. The debate that I had with myself went on for months. But it funny when you realize that you are not changing who you are simply because your name changes.
As far as other wedding stuff goes all that is left is to get a cake knife and toasting glasses, I finally order favors a couple days ago, get programs printed, and have the final meeting with the Vinyard.
I have also been applying for other jobs at nTelos. I had an interview for a team leader position. I did not get that one because apparently teaching and managing are not the same thing. Such bullshit.
I interviewed today for anoth technician spot. If I get that job I will be salary and be able to be home before Ryan falls asleep. That would be quite the novel thing.
I have also applied for a trainer position. That's not a manager type position - wouldn't want to make a mistake and think that my teaching backgound would lend itself so well to managing.
I'm not bitter...really.
Signing off for now. I have thank you cards to write. [love writing thank you cards, let me tell you.]
