Cookie Palooza 2008

Dec 23, 2008 09:12

This year, every family household we're visiting gets an assortment of cookies. The Christmas Sampler Box!

Sarah and I baked for two days, and lovingly packaged each box, along with an adorable list describing all the cookies. This year was also our Industrial Revolution. With two standing mixers and two ovens, we made 21 boxes, each of which contained the following:

Classics
Chocolate Chip Cookies: The old
favorite-a chewy butter
cookie with chocolate and
pecans

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies: Soft
and chewy with warm spices
like cinnamon and nutmeg.

Peanut Butter Cookies: You
are advised to get a glass of
milk for these cookies, made
with enough peanut butter to
stick to the roof of your
mouth.

Spanish Wedding Cookies**:
Buttery shortbread with
pecans, rolled in powdered
sugar.

Holiday
Cardamom Cookies*: These are
similar to Gingerbread
Cookies, but have a smoother
texture and a slightly
different spice blend.

Stained-Glass Cookies**:
Creamy sugar cookies with
candy “glass.” Mind your
dental work!

After Dinner/Coffee Dippers
Anise Crisps*: They look like
‘Nilla Wafers, but have a
bright, licorice flavor.

Lemon Thins**: A tiny taste of
summer, just in time for
Christmas!

Pistachio Tuiles**: You can see
the crunchy pistachios in these
light cookies.

Florentines**: Buttery thin
cookies with almond and the
flavor of orange zest.

Biscotti**: Very crunchy and
perfect with coffee, these also
have the holiday flavors of
cranberry and pistachio.

Fig Cookies**: These squares
are perfectly crumbly, with fig
and pecan throughout.

Candy
Bird’s Nests: The perfect
crunchy peanut butter and
butterscotch snack.

Winter Bark*: Dark and white
chocolate swirled with salted
pecans.

I am VERY PROUD of this, and so excited for people to get their boxes! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
