The archdiocese of Dublin has reported that at least 350 children were sexually abused by over a 100 catholic priests in the Dublin area. I recall similar abuses in the United States and probably elsewhere - these children are molested at a very young age and some of them will probably be scarred for life. I'd say that alone would be enough to lift the "celibacy doctrine" for priests; obviously they get so sexually frustrated that they pray on the easiest victims at their disposal. The fact that many of the abused children are boys is even more ironic, considering the Vatican's renewed stance on homosexual priests in their church. Hypocrites.
