I was very lazy this winter - but then it is hard to do things when your body is freezing, well at least very cold. So I spent a lot of time on the couch surrounded by the nice, warm dogs. So when it came to doing yard work this spring, the muscles just didn't have the energy. So have started out slow. Had to move some rocks and a little dirt to fill in a hole that Toto dug in the driveway. Can't complain to anyone about potholes in my own driveway, so got creative. Filled with a medium large river rock on one side, then filled most with dirt and covered the rest of the hole with a square paver. Toto was not happy with me. She promptly dug a hole in the middle of the yard. Sigh. At least I won't break a leg getting to the car.
I also spent part of yesterday taking an old comforter to the laundromat, as my washer just isn't big enough to handle it. It's been in my car waiting. I haven't used it since my older dog died, and it smelled like dog. Now it is fit for human use and I can store it clean. Let's see, I also washed the dishes that have been in the sink all week. Yay. And finally made my bed (it's just me, and I'm lazy. Who cares anyway). I fixed up some Hamburger Helper - Potato Stroganof and added a bit of cream cheese and green beans. So it was a full meal in one skillet. At that point I felt guilt-free about watching three hours of tv: NCIS, NICS LA, then Person of Interest. Only had to get up for necessity breaks.
This morning I decided to bake up a blueberry coffee cake. Didn't have milk, but did have buttermilk, so used that. Added to the top instead of streusel mix was powdered sugar, lemon peel and lemon juice. Oh so wonderful. Definitely a keeper. Sent some off to sis's boss (sis doesn't do sugary stuff in the morning). As she is diabetic, I hope this won't cause a problem. Time for a second cup of coffee...
