Thought we were ready to start putting together a garden, but the snow and ice moved in last night. So, I'll just start with seeds and work on my patience. The windows on the North side of the house are frosted, so I can't see what's happening out there. Trying to warm the house enough for that to go away, but it's a slow process.
Last night the German Center celebrated Fasching (Fat Tuesday, although on a Saturday). Since the weather wasn't coming in till about the time we were scheduled to finish, I decided to brave it anyway. Turned out to be a lot of fun, and didn't have to play all the three hours allotted. Dinner was a big sandwich with fresh veggies and fruit. Beer was $1, but I stayed with my root beer with the screw-on cap. Me and the drums were crammed into the back corner, and I didn't want any spills. There was the usual: polkas, waltzes, costume contest, knee dance and much fun had by all. We have a regular singer with the band (Gary), and he specializes in all the oldie goldies. Hope he sticks around, as he has a very nice voice.
Sewing - I'm currently putting together an owl bag - the owl face is on the flap, and the wings are appliqued to the body of the bag. Plan to make a few of them for gifts. Have a friend (or two) in Florida that loves owls. Sold a GAST patch last night, so need to keep up the stock for band members. My embroidery machine is starting to bring in some income (minimal) and is really handy for making gifts, reducing the amount of shopping I have to do. And I have tons of fabric to work with. Don't think I need to get out of the house all week. No band practice Monday night. I can even watch my Monday tv shows on the tele this week. Yay!
