*He'd heard about the kittens, and he knew Al and he knew Greed so he could only imagine that if the homunculus he'd created was giving free kittens to people- for every one he gave away, he'd probably kept one of his own. Which would mean Alphonse had a fairly decent number of kittens at home, considering the number of people he heard talking about it. Either way, the only thing that would tell for certain was to go take a look for himself, and it had been awhile since he'd seen his brother. Edward was still wary, still nervous around the other - but he was stubborn and loyal as always, so if he was going to own up to what he created, and acknowledge that it was still Al in there... he'd better make an effort to get more comfortable around him, and that's what he'd been doing since their talk. Trying to get himself involved back into the life that he'd left three years ago.

When he did finally find him Ed cleared his throat to announce his presence, opening his mouth to speak, but faltering before any words escaped him.*
