Author's Notes: I didn't really get to introduce myself in my first contest, but I feel kind of bad just barging in here and starting to post! I'm not new to FMA, but I am new to writing fanfiction. You all seem like a cool crew, I'm really happy to have found this comm.
About my prompt- there is so much I could write about romance, since sap is like one of my favorite things. But this was my first idea. I yoinked the title from a Circa Survive album.

They were married on the third of October. Winry never fully understood why it had to be that date, but Edward had been adamant about it. He told her that he wanted to trade his sad memories for happy ones. Plus, if it were on any other day, he might forget their anniversary. It was easier to just group all the important dates together. If only Winry's birthday had been in October.

The night of their wedding, Winry hadn't been able to find him anywhere. How he had managed to slip away from the party without anyone noticing was beyond her, but Al had been telling a very entertaining story just before, which might have had something to do with it.
She finally found him up at the old tree, musing over the place his house used to be.
"I'm sorry, Winry," Edward said when he heard her approach. She hadn't even spoken yet, and she didn't. Winry simply sat with Ed under the tree and listened to the sounds of their party.

Their future was filled with happy anniversaries. Edward would never let himself brood when he was supposed to be celebrating their love.
For their third anniversary, Edward took her back to the tree, but this time it was to show her the new house being built just beside the plot of the old one.
On the wall in Edward's study hung a battered pocketwatch, reminding him not to forget to tell Winry 'Happy Anniversary'.
