Yeah, I did the editing on Rust that I should have done before I ever posted it the first time. So most of this will probably look familiar, but hopefully most of the "wtf, I don't get why ..." should be cleared up.

I still left Roy's motivations unclear, though. That's deliberate. If anything else is unclear, let me know.

I'm just gonna go jump off a bridge now, partially because this fic makes me want to do that anyway (so sad!) and partially because I'm jealous of you as a writer.

Odds are low. When I first posted it, people wanted a continuation, and I thought about it but I think it ends better here.

I'm glad you liked it enough to want more, though. :)
