The End of an Era

May 09, 2005 12:17

As many of you know, this Friday night is a night that will go down in infamy. An end has come to our dream. Our heroes, our adventures, our hope, all will be consigned to history. Since my childhood I have found inspiration in a group of people I have come to know as friends. They were an ever changing group of men and women who took me into their ( Read more... )

I loved all of First Contact. The part where whats her face tells Picard to "Blow up the damn ship" is great. Too bad about Insurection, perhaps had the story not been spoonfed and they took the chance and actually killed off Data things would have been different.

Any time in Voyager when Janeway flicked her hair as though she was gayer then the audience was pretty cool too.

I fucking love that bit. People say its ridiculous, but I think its great. Insurrection was shite alright. Where did Worf even come from? Stupid, lame, weak.

Janeway? Gay? That makes a lot of sense actually... My favourite (only) Janeway quote is from The Year of Hell:

'Time's...UP!'

Genius.

Theres a very gay sensibility about Janeway. She's one of those 'empowered' female types which those crazy gays love so much.

i have to say, i was never personally enamoured with janeway. why DOES she appeal to gay guys so much? and why does star trek appeal to gay guys so much. i don't think i know a single gay guy that doesn't watch and enjoy star trek with the unnotable instance of the brainless hack commenting elsewhere on this page.

Rory is just jealous, throw sticks at him.

As for Trek, I'm not sure. It could be the message that 'someday it'll all be ok' that appeals to you gay kids who know that they are different but don't know why. The idea that despite their difference they'll be accepted could speak to them. Plus theres meant to be loads of storylines that are a little bit queer. I'm not as well versed in trek as I was when I was a wee boy sitting in the yard reading the encylopedia with my 'friends' (aka. other losers).

I've a softspot for Deanna because I love how she fucks up the ship everytime she's near a computer and she stalked her man for nearly 10 years before he put a ring on her finger. That's my plan for Rory!

Oh he put a ring on her finger a long time ago. It just wasn't a wedding band. You see, Riker is a kinky fucker. And you know, in the 24th century, ass play is totally cool for guys...

...and what do you mean 'appeals to you gay kids'. Surely I haven't misunderstood...?

I was speaking to the general public :( Force of habit from when I stand on my soap box and dictate to everyone... You may replace it with 'those' or 'us' for I too am a gay. The only gay in Wolverhamptonland. *sigh*

Isn't your flatmate, or someone, a female fanny fiddler? You're not the ONLY gay. That is not your distinction.

She's bisexualised and won't rule out the chance to one day have a man enter her womanly garden. So I probably am the only gay if you think about it really hard. Besides I'm home soon so then I'll be with the normies (aka other gays) again.

If I think about it really hard, my brain hurts more than it usually does thinking about things not hard. So I'm afraid I can't oblige you.

Imagine there was a village where there was an only straight. I wonder how he'd dress? etc

THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT STAR TREK DAM IT!!!
