I have a car now. Her name is Judith. She got acclimated to the Wisconsin winter very quickly. Scraping the ice off her windshield at 4AM was really fun. And cold.
Judith and I are going to travel 2800 miles together over the month of January. It sounds like a stupid idea, but on the other hand, I'm going to get to see the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (from the outside, at least...maybe) and the Appalachian mountains. Itinerary coming soon!
For my birthday last night, I requested that I make my own cake. I made a vegan Chocolate Almond Midnight Torte, complete with almond maple praline and raspberry sauce, partially because one of the only ways I can get my family to eat anything with tofu in it is to use "it's my birthday" leverage. It was delicious.
Tomorrow I'm going to Pittsburgh to visit my extended family. I've already put together my Sweden/Finland/Denmark slideshow, and all that remains is to pack and record some tunes for my grandmother. The last time I saw my extended family, I thought I was going to major in history. I can't wait to tell them what my real major is and most probably get in a passive/aggressive argument about the merits of feminism with my cousins.
I still miss Sweden.
