Over you.
Sehun/Krystal.

The cold tears spilled as quickly as the raindrops fell. She could not understand; reality was still not grasping her. All she could see was his sturdy backside, walking away, slowly but not with regret. He was the one who approached her. But now, he’s the one who was leaving. She could not understand.
She recalls the first time she laid her almond brown eyes on the man. She was a mess, and like every fairytale, he was her knight in shining armor. But this fairytale did not have a happily ever after. It ended with another heartbreak.
They were polar opposites and apparently opposites attract. That’s what she was supposed to believe. She was an all round walking catastrophe; he fixed her. She was a student, he was an idol. That was the recipe for disaster.
The first month was almost like heaven. They were intertwining their fingers under the table while Prof Lee was teaching. He’d sneak her into the company dance studio to show her what he did best. Late night phone calls and early morning alarms were already a routine. And during photoshoots she’d present her masterpiece that she’d spent all night working on; his lunch. He was more than happy to eat those non-chewable meat and rock hard side-dishes considering that was the only food he would see all day.
But then they climbed a rocky hill during the second month. He became busy, busier. His new album was about to be released. Of course she was happy for him; over the moon even. But her happiness was short lived.
From then on there were no more calls, hell, there weren’t even text messages. He rarely showed up for class. People questioned her. She too wanted to know the answers. Desperately.
The third month came and teasers soon spread like wildfire throughout Youtube. His delicate milky face was everywhere. She could not help but smile; he was achieving his dreams, what was she doing?
The fourth month arrived. It was already nearing the end of the semester and summer was about to begin. Her friends tried to convince her into going on holiday to Majorca to clear her head. Majorca was too far away from him. She wanted to watch him, even from television and newspaper; it was enough to make sure that he was fine.
She saw him every day. He was a fixed cast on a variety show. He smiled a lot these days. She could see the crinkles on the edges of his eyes appear when he laughed too much and him licking his lips out of nervousness.
A package came during the holidays. Oh Sehun it wrote in jet black ink. Without even wasting a second, she ran to her bedroom and tore apart the black and red wrapping. It was his album. He even signed it with a small heart. She was overjoyed. At long last, he did care.
Or that’s what she thought.
Summer ended rather quickly and a new semester was about to begin. He finished his promotions and she would’ve thought that he’d be back. But the seat beside her remained empty and lifeless. She too was beginning to become lifeless.
It was already autumn when she met him once more. It was by accident too. He was just dropping by his resignation letter to the university. She was just dropping her rejection letter for a transfer to an overseas university. And just like that they met once more, on the edge of the cliff where she first thought of suicide.
We have to talk.
Oppa, I miss you.
Thunder began to roar as the clouds darkened. Mother Nature seemed to sense the atmosphere and had begun to shed tears.
We need to break up.
Why?
Her eyes were already brimming with tears. He could not see. The rain was already soaking them through and through.
Because you’re just a commoner. And well, I am now a national treasure.
It was like he had a sharp knife and stabbed his straight in her heart. She was broken, if it was possible to be even more broken than before.
Goodbye Soo Jung.
She still could not understand. Was it her? Was she not pretty enough? Was she not clever enough? Her head was spinning like a rollercoaster, one she could not get out of.
When winter came, she avoided life all together. She rarely spoke, she rarely ate, and she rarely went out of her bed. He had taken away the only thing that she clung onto. She often thought about visiting the cliff once more. Maybe the other side was better; heaven or hell, wasn’t it the same anyway?
Her 20th birthday arrived. She was surprised that she was still breathing. Breathing but not living. She tore herself away from the comfort of the bed and prepared herself a steaming hot coffee. After a long flower bath she slumped herself on the sofa in front of the television. Dust flew everywhere when she threw herself into the vintage brown sofa. It had been too long since she had sat there. She dug the remote from underneath and clicked the big red button.
Often, in movies or books, a big red button would mean danger or at the least, it would mean something unpleasant. This was definitely not the case.
The lights on the television began to flicker slowly as she switched from one channel to another. She stopped on a familiar face. He looked thinner and his smile wasn’t as bright as it used to be.
Have you ever dated Sehun-sshi?
The lanky boy simply nodded bashfully.
Why did you break up?
Her heart palpitated for a second. She gripped the remote controller even more tighter that if the remote controller was actually alive, it would be dead by then.
I wanted her to chase her dreams like I chased mine.
That was all it took. She only needed to hear those words from him to realize how useless she was these past few months. The edges of her lips began to twitch until her lips formed a smile. This was something she hadn’t done in a long time. She even forgot how refreshing a smile was.
The next day, everyone was surprised. Her professor tipped his thick squared glasses onto the bridge of his nose and blinked a few times. It was a couple of minutes before he grasped the situation and kindly took her paper.
I’d like to accept the overseas transfer please.
The white pristine walls of her new apartment were screaming to be touched. She ran over to the new sofa bed and began to jump, bounce and stumble. Oh, if she could, she would’ve jumped over the moon.
His five year idol cycle had already run out. There were newer and more exciting groups coming out; he was just a washed away fad by then. Soo Jung, on the other hand, was just beginning to start her career.
The next time she saw him was at the airport. She was coming back to her hometown and he coming back from an overseas concert. With a cap covering most of his face and paparazzi screaming for him to comment on his latest scandal, he stopped in his tracks to see the face he once pushed away.
This time he was broken and she was fixed.
