Leap Year Day!
I wanted to be sure to post something on leap year day, so Happy Leap Year Day everyone!
Recently I've been listening to some older music - some of which is old in the sense that it's from the 60s (and/or 70s), but also some music that I haven't listened to in ages. It's interesting revisiting bands/artists that I loved in the past and sort of redescovering them. In the first catagory I've been listening to some Beatles, John Lennon, Elton John, The Turtles, and others; and in the second catagory it's been bands like L7, Grinspoon, and Hole. I have such a musically oriented memory, it seems that most songs or albums from my past have particular memories attached to them, or at least they bring back feelings of what I used to do while listening to them, like the albums that I'd listen to while getting ready for school and so forth. Sometimes it suprises me what songs make me think of. I love music.
I don't think I made a post about the girls performances on Wednesday. I thought that Brooke did a real good job, and I thought Carly did a good job too. I also liked the performances of Syesha, and Asia'h, and I thought that Ramilie did pretty well, but not as good as usual maybe. Thursday's results show was really sad. I mean they're always sad, but I don't think that I'd seen anyone react quite in the way that Alaina did before. I imagine it would be really hard to sing when you get kicked off though. And it's curious to see what contestents interact with each other, and who seems closest to whom. My brother commented that watching the contestants - and the judges as well - during bits where they're all togethe on stage, like at the end of an episode, is like watching your miis interact in a way. I totally agree about that. So here's betting that next week will be songs of the 80s. I doubt that there will be any, but it would be kinda cool to see some Smiths songs during 80s week. Though, cooler if Blake could come back to do a song by The Smiths or Morrissey. I still would love to hear him cover a song by one of them, I've been saying so since last year, I think it would suit him.
