Harry Potter and Heroes

I'm a couple days off on commenting about about some of the things JK Rowling mentioned during her book tour, but I'll put my comments behind the cut just in case.

I thought that maybe Dumbledore was gay, so knowing that he is (was, I suppose I should say), isn't too big of a surprise to me. When I read Deathly Hallows it seemed like he had a thing for Grindelwald. It's sad how that didn't turn out very well for them.

It's touching how James and Lily (and Sirius? The Leaky Cauldren coverage wasn't too clear) supported Lupin financially after graduation, though sad that conditions for werewolves were so bad that he couldn't find work. Though, I'm guessing that they cut off the support for him when they thought he was the traitor. In which case, what did he do then? What did he do after James and Lily were killed and Sirius was sent to Azkaban? I mean, before he became the DADA professor. I still wonder where he was living all those years, and I suppose that the fact James and Lily (and maybe Sirius) were his financial supporters is more evidence that he doesn't/didn't have any living relatives by the time he graduated?

While I support the ship of Neville/Luna, I guess Neville/Hannah is cute. The first thing that came to mind though when I read that Neville and Hannah got married, was that I was glad to know that Hannah survived book 7! I was worried about her fate since we know a lot of Hufflepuffs stayed and fought in the Battle of Hogwarts, and we also know that 50 unnamed characters died during the battles. I've always liked Hannah, so I'm really relieved to know that she's okay.

Also, I cracked up reading the explanation JK Rowling gave about the inappropriate charms Aberforth used on the goats that got him in trouble. I loved that she checked the age of the kid who asked about that before answering XD (they were 8).

Now, on to comments about this week's episode of Heroes:

So, Matt's father very scary. It's quite obvious why Molly calls him the Nightmare Man now... I hadn't expected that. Though I'm not entirely sure that he is in fact the killer or if he's simply working with the killer. Part of me feels like he might have made the death foretelling photo of himself to make himself seem innocent, but then again I do wonder if someone is after him as well. However, I do think that he was the one who attacked mama Petrelli at the poliece station. Since after the attack mama Petrelli started acting kind of - nice - to Nathan, warning him not to make his children hate him, etc. implies that she now feels guilty and/or regretful for the way she had been acting towards him (and Peter). My theory is that the change in her was brought about by her nightmare, which may have shown her what she's really like (similar to what happened to Dudley after the Dementor attack in HP).

I was so relieved when Matt realized that he and Nathan were in nightmares and was able to telepathically tell Nathan to snap out of it. Interesting new breakthrough in Matt's powers as well. I wonder if his knowing how to telepathically communicate with people will be enough to rescue Molly?

That was such a sad phone conversation between Mr. Bennet and Mohinder about Mohinder's dilemma about what to do with Molly. Hopefully The Company can actually do something to help her. I doubt they can get her our of her nightmare though. And it was sad when Mohinder tried to free Nicki, only to find out that she doesn't want to be freed from there. Over all I just felt so bad for Mohinder this episode. He's in such a difficult situation. I hope that Molly will be alright.

I was surprised that Monica's ability apparently works in that she watches people do things and then can mimic them. That must have freaked her out when she was able to play piano so well, so suddenly. I wonder what happens when she watches other Heroes use their powers? Or what would happen if she watched some superhero type movie? would she be able to mimic whatever powers she saw? After Micah showed her the comic book I started feeling like perhaps she might become a costumed crime fighter in her area. In any case, I like the relationship between Monica and Micah - I'm glad that they have each other to talk to about their powers.

BTW, where were Monica's little brother and their grandma during this episode? It seemed strange that they weren't there.

I'm glad that Peter finally looked in the box, though, why did he have a ticket to Montreal? I don't remember him planning on going there. Although wasn't there where mama Petrelli and Claire were planning on going? Did he have one of their tickets for some reason? Also, go take a closer look at Peter's ID here xD

Elle is creepy. I've been trying to figure out - as has much of the fandom - who her father is. I'm sure that he is someone high up in The Company, and at first I thought that it might be Bob. I still do think that he's very likely, though I've also been suspecting Kensei, who I believe is still living in the present day due to his healing abilities. I wonder too, if maybe Kensei is the founder of The Company? Elle is supposed to have a connection to Claire as well, so maybe Claire's birth mom is Elle's mom? Then of course there's the theory that Mr. Petrelli is actually Kensei, which is possible, and then that would be a connection to Claire.

I hope that Hiro comes home soon. I liked the bits with Ando and the scientist/archivist working on reading some of the harder to read scrolls that Hiro left for Ando. I keep on expecting Kensei to become evil or for something to go wrong in the past. I'm worried too that before Hiro returns there will be some awful cliffhanger for Ando with the scrolls ending abruptly or in the middle of describing some horrible event.

Poor Caitlin. It's so sad about her brother being killed for protecting Peter. Did Caitlin know that Peter was in danger? I feel like she didn't, as it seemed like maybe Peter just told her that he wanted to visit her place? Anyway, I'm worried about her now too. I'm worried about most of the characters, actually.

I didn't expect that Monica was the girl Mohinder was sent to look for. Hopefully he won't freak her out, or use the taser (sp?) on her. I doubt that he would do that though - I mean, yes, he used it on Jessica but, it would have blown his cover if he'd just let her kill Bob. Anyhow, it would be nice if Micah got to speak with Mohinder, so he could find out where his mom is.

On the subject of Nicki/Jessica, what is the company doing with Nicki? Are they really trying to help her get rid of Jessica? I mean they are a dubious organization - and I know that she's supposed to do something in return for them, but it still seems weird to me that they would even have a cure for getting rid of Jessica. Could they instead be attempting to remove or subdue Nicki? Thereby causing Jessica to be around more often, to be used as a weapon/assasian for them? In any case I think that there's more than Nicki is aware of to her "cure" and the arrangement she's made with The Company.
