Edinburgh and instruments!

So it's been a while.

Recent news, I've just gotten back from a holiday to Scotland. Trying not to be too down in the dumps about having to go to back to work tomorrow.

But Edinburgh was awesome, as usual. Got to watch a lot of fun shows. One in particular which I fell in love with was about 200 years of history as told by a group of clowns. Yeah, I like the slightly odd shows. Plus a random interest in circuses. Went on a ghost tour with someone staying in the same room as me at the hostel. I love these things. It's strange to think how people managed to live down in the underground vaults. Also whilst I would love to work on something like a ghost tour, I would inevitabley have to be alone in a really creepy location and I get creeped out too easily.

And I got into the Neil Gaiman talk after someone else had returned a ticket. Was really interesting, especially some of the bits and pieces about how he approaches the writing process and what he's working on at the moment (mostly short story stuff which won't stop growing). Also, those shepherds from Shepherds Bush mentioned in Neverwhere? They have flocks of people. Also I made really great friends with the other people in line around me for the book signing (I should think so too, we were there for quite a while). I got my copy of Stardust signed (I was also rereading it whilst up there) and got a copy of Wolves in the Walls. I also think I'm gonna have to re-think my previous stance of only reading American Gods for the first time when in America. And to cap it all off, he said he liked my bowler hat.

Most random thing I did though was buy a ukulele. A blue ukulele. There was this music shop next to my hostel and they were having a workshop where you could decorate and learn to play a ukulele, so I thought I'd try it and see and I liked it so......I now have a ukulele. I didn't really decorate it though because there wasn't anything I really liked, so I just put stickers of my initials and a small gold star on it. I think I might add some more stars in the future, but right now I'm just trying to learn some chords and tune it. Until the string settle it's going to need tuning a lot.

Not much else to report. Really should do some more film stuff soonish.

Peace out.
