More Scott Pilgrim than you can shake a stick at

You remember that thing I said about wanting to blog more often? Yeah that didn't work out.

However if I was regularly blogging then last week you would have gotten "I do something Scott Pilgrim related" on tuesday, "I do something Scott Pilgrim related again" on wendesday and then "When oh when will the Scott Pilgrim stuff end?" on thursday.

What happened was:

Tuesday: Went to Bryan Lee O'Malley signing at Forbidden Planet. Got there two hours early and was in a reasonable place in line. Pretty cool, I got 1, 3 and 6 signed and he drew a little Super Mario star in vol. 3 which is awesome because that's my favourite. Said about how cool the playlists in the back of the books were to him. Then said that I loved Kim Pine, to which he said "yeah looking at you, you look like someone who would love Kim Pine" rather than muse on this somewhat bizarre comment, I just ran with it and laughed.

Wendesday: Went to another signing to get my brother's books signed. This time it was at a smaller place so the line wasn't as harsh. O'Malley remembered me from the previous day, that was cool, and I got my picture with him. So got brother's 1 and 6 signed and my 2, 4 and 5 signed (he was signing one of each book). Then on the way out I got 6 again, but this time I got the Oni Press one because the one I got is a different publishing company so is a wrong size to the rest of my books. So I have a matching set now. Although that vol. 6 isn't signed but I don't really mind.
But then I wandered over to Leister Square to check out the premiere but obviously I got there too late to get a good spot. My pictures therefore included a lot of the backs of other people's heads. Also failed to get a high five from Brandon Routh. Really funny was the people behind me who commented on how "chiselled" Routh looked. And yes, they were guys who said this.

Thursday: I was like "no, no going out, I'm staying in" and then on Twitter I saw that there was a Q&A with Edgar Wright at the Apple Store in Regent's street. I couldn't NOT go, so off I went. The talk as fantastic, recorded by Empire for a podcast and everything. We got to see three clips which were all funny and awesome and I can't wait to see the film on thursday.
So afterwards I got dragged ona  very merry chase by one of the people I met at the talk. I was like "eh, why not". So we went to the Curzon in Soho where there was a preview screenign and another Q&A. We chatted for a bit as we waited for it to end and then got pictures with Edgar Wright on the way out. Which was so awesome. Although I felt kinda bad for bothering him. Also told him I thought he was a genius because I really had no idea what to say. I just hope we didn't bother him too much.
So that was my Scott Pilgrim filled week. Also at Forbidden Planet I got the Blackest Night TPB and Munchkin, which is a brilliant and funny RPG style card game. Unfortunately much like our Xbox movie trivia game people will probably play it with me once and then never again. Better than the LOST boardgame though, couldn't even get to play that once. The pieces are still in the bags.

Jobhunting continues to be annoying and fruitless.

Also yesterday began my videogame rehabilitation. After my thumb injury I couldn't really play games. After the sling (which I was in for a week) I could managed DS games awkwardly and then Wii games but yesterday was the first tme I played some 360. Played Alan Wake and it was alright as long as I didn't press on the very end of my tumb. But still loving Alan Wake. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I like the story.

Peace out
