[Frankly, it's difficult to hear him over the chaos in the engine room - banging, clanging, the grinding, squealing of metal, the loud hiss of steam, etc . . . For himself, he sounds exhausted, overtaxed, very likely in a lot of pain, and yet bound-and-determined to FIX THIS before he backs down...or collapses... He's speaking quickly but calmly, getting his report out while he has a few minutes' respite to do so. Not far from him can be heard a chorus of high-pitched voices crying "Kuri! Kuri!!"]
Crew and passengers of the Silvana, I'm broadcasting from the engine room. My deepest apologies for all that is going on out there! I am finally forced to report officially that our problem is . . . poltergeist activity, essentially. It is my belief that we have a single, but powerful, entity that has gotten aboard somehow. The seat of its influence seems to be the engine room, specifically the Claudia drive. I regret to admit that I have failed to contain the thing, as you all are only too awar-!
Dark Magician, behind you! [there's the sound of a blast of crackling energy]
...dammit! ...With all due respect to the officers, may I suggest that everyone get off the ship?! Not just on deck, but completely away from the ship itself. At least temporarily until the entity has been contained and . . . exorcised, or whatever. Until then, we're sitting basically in a deathtrap and it's only a matter of time until people start getting seriously hurt. From what I can sense of this thing, it's nearly blind with fury - out for vengeance for something, I'd hazard to say. However, it seems to be striking indiscriminately, so no one is safe from its wrath.
If there are any in the crew with ability to combat powerful, supernatural entities . . . I could really use your help down here! I've done everything I can, but I have no particular specialty in this sort of thing.
Yami ou-AH! ........d-damn.....
[[OOC: Okay, guess things are coming to a head, guys. XD Since he first started his normal work shift however long ago now, Yami's been holed up in the engine room, at first trying to track down mechanical sources of the problem, then discovering and trying to deal with the ghost. By the time anyone else gets down there, they'll find him pretty much on his last legs - exhausted, badly injured, and thoroughly spent of magic energy - partly because he's summoned and has been maintaining all three of his Monsters (Dark Magician, Elf Swordsman, and a cloud of Kuribohs). Abject stubborn WILL alone has him still up and conscious, though by the end of the battle - if not before - that will no longer be the case. He'll have to be carried to the infirmary by the end of this. Oh . . . and his kittens. XD;;; Once things quiet down, anyone near him will hear the soft mews of the two kittens he took in from Raidou. When he started his shift, he knew he'd be at work for several hours, so he brought them and their supplies with him, feeding/bathing/diapering them when he's had a chance. They're bundled in a shoulderbag along with a small, mana-powered heater to keep them warm. He's somehow managed to keep them safe through all this. XDDD EDIT: Never mind . . . DUH I keep forgetting there are other, NPC mechanics - he'd have cleared out any personnel who couldn't deal with the supernatural . . . and sent his satchel of kittens with one of them...]]
