Woke up a little early to grab breakfast and then pack up my bags to change hotels. At the suggestion of my instructor I got a room at his hotel, also where our mechanic is staying to make getting to the base easier.
After the switch was complete I decieded to seize the first clear day I've had out here yet and head towards the mountains.
Hopped on I-60W and drove to I-215N which took me towards Barstow and right on the edge of the San Bernadino Mountains, which were covered in snow, despite it being 63 at ground level. I snapped a few pictures up there before calling it quits (before passing through the mountains) and went back to the hotel, where I ran into my instructor who had just arrived and checked in.
Spent the rest of the day discussing the job, and then doing some practice flights, about 3 hours worth of practice weight and balance sheets... after all that we gathered up the mechanic and went to dinner before we all retired to our rooms.
I'm hoping tonight I can get an adapter that will allow me to download my pictures from the camera to this laptop so I can post them...
For now, time to get ready to go out and work my first live departure.
