Well, after some doing some exploring in the morning, I headed back to the hotel to get ready for the flight.
Since I didn't know exactly where to go on base, or what to do, I got out there about 2 hours prior to arrival. The drive from the security check point to base ops was about 2 miles, which I thought was pretty big, but apparently its not.
Checked in with base ops and was told to wait for the plane to call in, so I still had about an hour and a half to burn.
The plane finally arrived and the crew headed off to meet their shuttle to the hotel, while we had to stick around while the catering people took the left over trays off, and the cleaners worked on the aircraft.
I hadn't planned on doing anything today, but we've opted to have the cleaners come back out and scrub the overhead bins and the walls to try and get some of the grime and sand off of them. So, I'll probably end up spending most of the day on base.
Tomorrow still looks free, and the weather is showing to be nice, so I might drive north towards the mountains and the desert, find me a cactus to take a picture of or something.
