6 days and counting
Michael got the hatchway painted yesterday. We didn't have any mineral spirits, so he almost ruined the sink in the downstairs bathroom by trying to clean the brush in there! I put the brush in a piece of newspaper and rushed out to buy mineral spirits. The hatchway now looks very nice. And, we managed to get the sink cleaned off.
We also got all the floors waxed. This involves moving all the furniture, which is why we don't do it very often. However, it is GREAT to clean behind all the furniture, so every time we do this, I think that we should do it more often.
We were all done and ready to go pick up Rachel and Dave at the airport when they phoned and said they had missed their plane! They had been a little too slow leaving their apartment and arrived at the airport 1 minute too late. They had very bad luck getting another flight, and won't be arriving until 10:30 this morning! Luckily, we didn't have anything planned until this afternoon, so they really didn't miss anything.
The good part is
1. They bought books and read them in the airport.
2. They didn't really miss anything.
3. Their flight connected in Chicago, so they got to spend the night with Dave's parents.
The bad part is
1. They had to get up at 5 this morning to catch their flight. (This is like punishment!)
The moral of this story -- arrive on time at the airport.
