Avenue Q

We went to see Avenue Q today.  It is like Sesame Street for adults.  We enjoyed it, and it was interesting to see how the actors sang and handled the puppets.  I walked in from the parking lot, and we sat in our regular seats.  The sidewalks are very cracked and uneven, so walking on them was difficult, but I made it.  I guess I am getting better

We saw Avenue Q last year, since its very popular in the anime community (or at least the songs are) and we were curious. We thought it was quite funny, and we especially loved the bad idea bears. Hehe.

Interesting! It did not occur to me that it would be popular among the anime set, but it makes sense, since you were raised on Sesame Street.

My podiatric surgeon does not look too much older than you and Eleanor. At the first appointment I had with him, he said "Well, it sucks to be you right now." which struck me as a somewhat odd and quirky thing for a doctor to say. Now that I have seen Avenue Q, I wonder if he was quoting from it. I'm going to try to remember to ask him if he likes anime next time.

I thought this show was pretty racy for a puppet show. However, I only spotted one child in the audience, so I guess most people figured this out. I hope she wasn't scarred for life!

I have heard the expression "that sucks" many times for years. But I had never heard anyone say "it sucks to be you" before, and that is pretty much a direct quote from the song.

I've heard "sucks to be you" for years. You probably haven't heard it before because it can be a little mean unless you say it with the right town, and even then someone can take it the wrong way.
