The last couple of days, the TV near my computer has been absolutely infuriating. Every 10 to 20 seconds it would freeze. It was absolutely unwatchable. Our TV in the living room did not have this problem, so we decided maybe the wire to this TV was worn, and Michael was thinking about trying to replace it, which would be a big pain to do. Yesterday Michael decided to go buy a new DVD recorder. However, he wanted to keep the old one because it will record copy-protected stuff, so he took it up to the bedroom. That TV we hardly ever watch. He hooked the recorder up and turned the TV on to check it, and PFFTT! The TV was history. No picture, no sound. The TV is over 20 years old, and I thought it lasted pretty good. So today, Michael went and bought a new HD flat screen at Best Buy. (Since I can't walk, I haven't gone upstairs to look at it yet.) He brought it home and hooked it up. Now I am watching the TV next to my computer, and it hasn't frozen yet. Yay! I can only theorize that whatever electrical problem that killed the TV upstairs was somehow interfering with this TV, even though the TV upstairs wasn't even turned on. It seems odd, because the 2 TVs are on opposite ends of the house, but they must be on the same wire.
Today Susan Allen came to play duets with me. It was a lot of fun! She is a flute teacher, and is much better than me, but I am good enough so that it I think it was enjoyable for her as well. Unfortunately, it sounds like she is pretty busy, plus she lives 10 or 15 miles away, so I doubt we will get to play together very often. However, she said that maybe I could get together with a couple of her adult students to play, and also the Hartford Musical Club sometimes gets up a flute choir, so hopefully I will be able to join in on that.
