Wilma called me from Indonesia. I pretty much squealed. It was very much an upper.
Work has been exhausting. And dirty. I don't recall if I always got this dirty there or if it's just this year because it's so dry. I feel like I'm constantly coated in dust. But, half of orientation is done! One more half to go. The area is so small, the whole staff is so small. There are so many new students, some that seems pretty cool, but others I'm not impressed with. Maybe they'll redeem themselves when they get into the real work situation.
I'm also kind of irritated that they scheduled orientation through the May Long Weekend and Mother's Day, and my mum's birthday although that's not something they could have forseen.
Speaking of which, I'm making the cake recipe I brought back from Indonesia for mum, belatedly. Iced it with a brown sugar butter cream frosting. I hope it turns out alright, because when it was in the oven, the top browned nicely, then split open about 15 minutes before it was supposed to come out of the oven, and liquid dough bubbled in the crack. I freaked out a little, and left it in longer than required, so now it's pretty brown. Not burnt, really, just darker than a white cake should be. You can't see with the icing on it though.
Went to RONS last night, it was very fun. As I said to Cory, I always feel a little sheepish when I first go in, especially for Lazer Tag, but then once I've been in for aout 4 seconds I get right into it and have a blast. I decided not to hit the bar with Carla and the rest for Carla's birthday because I had to work this morning at nine, and it was definitely a good choice. I slept like a rock last night, and could hardly wake up this morning; I don't know why.
Arg... big pile of dishes to do...
